Bent Tips: Bent tips can sometimes be repaired, but it’s not always worth the trouble. I’ve tried unbending tweezers myself — sometimes I get lucky, but more often than not, I end up making the issue worse. If the tension is off or the tips won’t meet correctly even after straightening, it’s probably time to move on.
Loss Of Tension: It’s rare, but tweezers can lose their original tension, especially if you have a habit of gripping too tightly. If your tweezers don’t open as wide as they used to or if the grip feels loose, it’s a sign they’re starting to wear out. However, consider adjusting your technique before blaming the tool - often, a “death grip” can be the real culprit.

Sometimes! I once managed to restore a bent pair by carefully realigning them using the edge of a table. It took time, patience, and a bit of luck. But more often than not, once tweezers are seriously damaged, repairs are hit or miss. If you do decide to attempt a fix, be prepared for the possibility that it might not work. Mind Their Location: Always know where your tweezers are. Never leave them on the edge of a table where they can be knocked off. Set them down on a stable surface when not in use, and keep them away from high-traffic areas where they could get accidentally bumped.

I learned this lesson the hard way when I crammed all my tweezers into a single case while moving to a new suite. Avoid Dropping Them: I know this sounds obvious, but it’s worth repeating. One drop can ruin the alignment or bend the tips beyond repair. Make it a habit to set them down in a safe place when you don’t absolutely need them in your hand.
